802 N.J. Schools Miss NCLB Targets

Speaking of a failing status quo, Adequate Yearly Progress reports for New Jersey were published yesterday and, under the strictures of No Child Left Behind, 802 of our public schools, or 36%, didn’t meet established targets for student achievement. That’s an increase of about 150 schools compared to last year, though AYP increased this year and some of tests were upgraded.
