What to do when your state aid has been cut and your Superintendent recommends closing three elementary schools and eliminating 200 jobs? If you’re the Trenton City School Board, you vote to not vote on the budget. Superintendent Rodney Lofton, according to the Trenton Times,

“seemed unsure of what a delay might mean.”

“I can’t tell you of the unknown,” Lofton told the board. “I don’t know what the state will do when we don’t submit a budget. There could be a state monitor coming in here as of tomorrow.”
