Gov. Christie announced this afternoon that he’s extending the deadline for local units of NJEA to accept salary freezes so that school districts can get more state aid. The original deadline for deals was Monday, April 12th. Now the deadline is June 30th, the date the budget gets passed. According to the Star-Ledger 115 of our 591 districts have achieved some sort of wage concessions from either teachers, administrators, or other staff in NJEA-supported bargaining units.
