Quote of the Day

Considering this is my first board meeting, it might be my last.

That’s Hamilton’s spanking-new interim superintendent, Dr. James Sheerin, reacting in disbelief when school board members rejected his recommendations for two new principalships at last night’s public meeting. According to The Trentonian, “The school board didn’t name any names, but the board hinted — and sources said — Sheerin was trying to fill two vacant principal slots with out-of-district workers rather than promoting employees from within. The township school district in recent years has been accused of fostering a culture of nepotism and cronyism.”
