NJ’s 31 impoverished Abbott districts will now receive an additional $7.9 million in preschool education aid, according to the Education Law Center, their primary advocates. The payments are required to comply with the State Supreme Court’s ruling in the most recent Abbott v. Burke litigation, that charged that NJ wasn’t meeting its fiduciary obligations under the School Funding Reform Act, which requires increases in preschool aid.
