N.J. Board of Education Candidates Will Belong to Any Club That Will Have Them as Members

Groucho Marx aside, here’s some numbers via the Star-Ledger on school board elections today. Don’t forget to vote!

1,861 candidates are seeking positions on New Jersey school boards.
1,528 seats are open.
1,198 of the candidates running are incumbents.
805 of the open seats will go uncontested in Tuesday’s elections.
130 of those uncontested seats will have zero candidates on the ballot.
1.22 is the ratio of candidates running for open seats.
