For teachers, parents, and administrators struggling to meet children’s educational needs during the coronavirus pandemic, here’s an opportunity to learn about best practices: Next Tuesday, May 19th, from 11 am to 12:15, the New Jersey Public Charter School Association is hosting a webinar to share innovative distance learning practices from schools that are knocking it out of the park. For families and public schools — both within and without New Jersey — this is a chance to learn, analyze, and implement successful strategies to maximize learning while schools are closed.

Featured guests include Senator Teresa Ruiz and Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt, who chair the Senate and Assembly Education Committees.

The featured schools — KIPP NJ, Uncommon Schools, iLearn Schools, and Unity Charter School– have developed innovative practices for navigating challenges faced by schools throughout the country. Why reinvent the wheel? Topics include:

● Supporting middle school readers and writers virtually

● Best practices for serving students with disabilities virtually

● Supporting students and families with social and emotional learning (SEL) resources during COVID-19

● Staying connected with teachers during distance learning
