An inside source reports that the New Jersey Department of Education will announce that DOE Commissioner Angelica Allen-McMillan is delaying standardized student testing until April. In addition, it is likely that the DOE will apply to the Biden Administration for a waiver for the 2020-2021 school year.
This is a developing story.
Update:The NJ DOE just issued this press release: standardized testing will begin “no earlier” than April 5th, 2021. The release adds that the state is waiting to hear from the U.S. Education Department if waivers will be available to forgo all spring testing.
