Ocean Township High School Has a Database That Tells Staff Whether Parents Should Be Informed of Student Gender Identity

This is an email from a staff member at Ocean Township High School which was flagged by Robert Pondiscio, a senior fellow at the conservative American Enterprise Institute. Pondiscio tweeted, “Someone kindly explain to me (in simple language with small words, please) how this is not a violation of FERPA, which gives parents the right to access any and all school records about their children.”

Parents and teachers, do you approve of Ocean Township’s approach towards ensuring confidentiality for students exploring their gender identities? Or do you see this as an overreach of school districts? Tell us in the comments section.
