Paula White, Executive Director of JerseyCAN, will provide testimony to the Senate Education Committee advocating the importance of high-dosage tutoring for all New Jersey public schools tomorrow, Thursday, October 27, at 11 am in Committee Room 4.

JerseyCAN, the only statewide advocacy organization in New Jersey committed to ensuring access to high-quality public schools for every child regardless of zip code, cultural background, and socioeconomic status, has been at the forefront in informing the public statewide on the educational effects of COVID and the value strong tutoring initiatives can provide the state to help address the dire issue of learning loss.

Most recently, JerseyCAN was instrumental in working with Senate Education Committee Chairman Gopal in helping to secure a state budget appropriation in the FY 2023 state budget for the New Jersey Tutoring Corps, an initiative launched by the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund and the Overdeck Family Foundation that has provided tutoring to thousands of K–5 students who have experienced pandemic-related learning loss.
