Gov.-elect Christopher Christie could not have found a nominee for Commissioner of Education that would rile up the New Jersey Education Association more than Bret Schundler, the pro-school choice former Mayor of Jersey City. It was a move of extraordinary testicular fortitude for the new Republican governor, and potentially puts the NJEA into an early campaign if they decide they want to test their strength in the current political environment by fighting his confirmation in the State Senate.
